Subject: RE: What insurance company do you like

Sargent, Nebraska
Had State Farm for years. Agent was good, so I thought always having us turn in cracked windshields and small things as such. After years of nothing but small claims, we had a big claim. Long story short, a guy never slowed down to pass equipment going down the road and hit me. 100% his fault, but he sued, and State Farm paid him off. Said it was cheaper than fighting it. Then Agent calls and says my deductible is going up for $1,000 to $10,000. Told him thanks, but we would be shopping for new insurance. Went with a Dave Ramsey ELP that's an indepent and can write for anyone. Agent also took the time to explain all the small claims the State Farm agent was having us turn in like windshields is what hurt us over time. Ended up going with a $2,500 deductible and looking at insurance as a tool only used in major instances and paying for all the small stuff out of pocket. The State Farm deal upset me at the time but ended up saving us a lot of money in the long run. It's been 8 years since we got away from State Farm and couldn't be happier. Currently have stuff with Farmers Mutual but with the independent agent that changes. Always getting the best coverage for the best price.

Long story short we truly believe you need an independent agent that can write for all companies is the best way to go.
