Look in your sent items folder and see if there are messages you do not recognize.
Look in the account settings under filters/rules and see if there are any rules put in place to delete certain messages.
It appears your account may be compromised and is being used to send spam. Also possible that your address is being used as a fake "from" address, but google has enough tools in place that is pretty infrequent.
Often when an account is compromised, it will be used to send spam/etc. The crooks have gotten better over the years about also then putting rules in place so that it will automatically delete any of those sent messages as well as any system/warning incoming messages so the compromised account does not see any nefarious activity going on.
At the very least, change your email password.
