Here it is not very common to use the line to dry.Winter=frozen or smell of wood smoke,,spring frozen still or bird poop..summer brown tail moth hairs cause rashes =bad,,fall= frozen or really nicely dried,,,
I guess the smoke thing depend on your proximity to wood stoves. I know for a fact that clothes dry rather well in freezing temps though. In our early years of our marriage, my awesome wife used to shovel snow out from under the clothes lines and hang laundry all winter long. The trick is to get at it early in the morning since the daylight is in short supply. I can say that I grew up with a mother who hung laundry to dry spring thru fall and I have never once had a bird poop incident. Having said that, we probably will tomorrow. |
