Mid Michigan | I downloaded 'Personal Ancestral File' in 1991 and still use it. My cousin got me started and he had a lot about Mothers family. Have about 2700 names on it back to 872. Met English cousins online in 2009 and was invited over in 2011. Went to a Church service in the same Stockland Devon Church my Great Grandparents were married in in 1848. They came over in 1851 and their baby died on the way. Two other boys survived.
My Great Grandfather died in this room in 1906 and my Grandfather died here in 1943 when I was 9. His funeral was in this house, but I came down with Chicken Pox and had to listen from upstairs.
In this old house built in 1901 there have been 2 births, 2 weddings, 2 deaths and 2 funerals, and I have been present for one of each. I was born on the dining room table pulled up to the heating stove in Feb 1934. It was 20 below zero per newspaper that date. | |
