Vegemite company added B-Vitamins. Marmite of England is the first product of this type. I assume Vegemite is a knock-off. I do not know if Marmite has added B-Vitamins or just naturally occurring ones from yeast. The stuff is a black tarry super-salty stuff. Brits & Aussies typically spread it on toast.
The company promotes it as an UMAME’ flavoring for meats & casseroles. I have not tried it for cooking. I keep it around as an extremely effective tonic for legs cramps. One teaspoonful:
60 seconds & cramps cease. No joking.
Canadian bureaucrats apparently cannot tolerate added B-Vitamins-as if they( or we) -get too many. I do not have a TV and am out of range for Canadian TV, so likely I miss the public service reports warning of excessive B-Vitamins in the National diet. Pass me the red-hot chips, please…..
