| We did the same tour on the Wisconsin the Missouri sister ship. Wisconsin, New Jersey, Iowa, Missouri, sister ships. It was terribly impressive. The big guns are I think 16"? They had a cross section of it in the museum, it had rifling that was about a quarter inch tall and broad all the way around. The ship had enough draft that when they fired a shell off it didn't effect the aim on the next. Seems like the recoil on the gun was 4 feet of more. The MO didn't actually see much service | |
