| I know a few instances where pastors were essentially driven out of their church for trying to make those changes, often after being hired to make those changes. Too many people are expecting the results to change without allowing their preferences to change.
This reminds me of two quotes I've heard lately, the first was "you can't be a good pastor if you're not willing to get fired" and the other was "leadership is learning how to disappoint people at a rate they will tolerate". | |
