Crawfordsville, Arkansas | 14 I believe. Got to plant the last field of the year of beans. 4650 JD and a 3 point 13 row 7300 vac planter. It was our cotton planter but had interplant units except for the middles behind the tires.
The next year I was full time on the planter but it was a 7300 with feed cups and 3 bushel hoppers. Filled it with buckets.. 12 rows on a 20’ bar. Took a long time to get much done. Pulling into a 160 acre field with a 20’ planter it seemed like 3 days before I was done. Tractor was a 4555 Deere. Hated that tractor too. Had a lot of hydraulic issues and was always breaking steel lines. Finally replaced them with rubber hoses and she was good after that. | |
