West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12 | I think I was 12 the first time I ran a corn planter.
I was told to "aim waaay ahead." "Don't look directly down the hood at the hood and stare at the marker track." "Steer by the seat of your pants in the hills."
I was driving a low hour 1206 Farmall, duals, no cab, pulling a one year old 8/30 7000 Deere planter with dry fertilizer and insecticide.
Thought I was a real bad ass.
ETA...It was a couple years before that I was allowed to run the 8350 12 foot end wheel drill pulled by a 706 gas seeding oats... that's when I got the NEVER back up with the drill/planter in the ground speech.
