No worries then as there isn’t anyone in DC that wants anything to do with a balanced budget.

There isn't anyone in the US that wants anything to do with a balanced budget. You cannot imagine how impoverished that would make you.
fairly certain hee govt could build a multibillion dollar surplus nd I could still order my favorite steak at Mannys. Unless of course the path to get there is asset confiscation. Is that what you are alluding too, devastating our balance sheets as individuals? Iirc, nobody was too destitute way back when Newt &co balanced the budget.

Yeah, what happened to gas and grain prices then? Gresham's law was starting to kick in, even over that short of a time.

If that had kept up for much longer, you'd have systemic massive deflation.

US exports would crash as dollars would be too valuable overseas.

After that, we'd run out of dollars domestically. During the '30s, the shortage of dollars led to towns and businesses issuing their own currency so that some level of business could continue. You don't want that to happen again.

The US standard of living has been based a steady stream of tribute from overseas for 70 years. No one here is going to like the austerity required to pay our own way again.
