Local neighbour  - maybe 45 yrs ago -  ran pigs in sheds with slurry pits.

These were pumped into an 8,000 gallon tank, with a trip lever, pulled when mobile on a cultivation paddock to give a 'fertiliser spread'.

Story went like this,   Tank full, out to the cultivation, to the 'start point' . On the move. the rope was pulled, but the latch busted!  The guy figured he'd trip it while stationary, run back to the tractor, slap it in gear and spread the load . Good plan  -- BUT - jumped onto the tractor, into gear, and STALLED motor.  Battery then quit,  motor would not start. In a few minutes the whole rig was sitting in 8000 gallons of pig sh..!

I remember the rig sitting there for a few days until it soaked in and dried!
