C IL | What happened to the old trusty blue DMI?
Was just dry enough to start planting corn on our driest field Monday, but it looks cold and wet. Early birds started Tuesday. Windy, retailer is running out of dry ground for NH3 and too windy for dry fertilizer and burn down list gets longer as sprayers running pre-emerge on beans.
If I can get a couple more loads of burn down sprayed early tomorrow morning before the wind picks up we will have all cornstalks burned down ready for bean planter. If it’s dry enough to hit the next 200 acres tomorrow with field cultivator, will have all corn acres worked down once and probably have NH3 on it except for wettest 40 acres. And for the way the spring is going, to knock down the green weeds will be a win. And then we will get our 3” of cold rain and see where we are again. |
