The three biggest factors in heart disease seem to be type two diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity. Lipoprotein levels are ways down the list of risk factors, and it is questionable if they are even a risk factor.
Going low carb eliminates risk of type 2 diabetes.
Maybe or quite possibly the opposite. Problem with low carb diets is lack of long term studies but they are starting to show up. I like long term studies. This study makes sense to me from a "use it or lose it" philosophy.
