Subject: RE: Salebarn Owner/Managers Buying Cattle

Big Sky Country
Yes yes—and yes! Western livestock , great falls, mt—-has a huge potential area.

And you’ll see lots of cattle listed by Lewistown live, Billings live, —even Butte—-that were hauled by their door.

I know one guy who personally put together more loads that went by than were sold that day—-gleefully—

I’ve watched—my personal impression was buyers took turns. And it usually seemed to me, that when one or 2 was “cut back”, it’s bargain time. I can understand some being sold cheaper—-Im ok with that—I don’t like feeling raped. I had one buyer I’d asked to buy a set of heifers for me—-“did we get them?” “No—-so and so let me get the steers, I let him have the heifers……”

My impression is they’ve never “got it” the sellers are their customers, that if they support the market, the cattle will show up, if the cattle are there, the buyers will be.
