Alpena MI | Should a salebarn owner or manager buy at the barn they operate? I buy at barns where they do buy and where they don't buy. I personally think it brings more cattle to a barn where the lower to midrange quality cattle price is held up by an owner.
A bit of background, my Grandpa owned and operated Topeka Livestock Auctions in Topeka IN for many years, and my dad was an auctioneer when he was younger, so I may tend to see things from a different perspective than most farmers/ranchers. | |
