39.48, -82.98 | My opinion (worth what you paid for it) is that diet/nutrition is one of the softest of soft sciences...if you can even call it a science. It is so chock full of bad data, crackpots, and fads as to be almost useless. Here is a closer look at how the diet>cholesterol>heart disease sausage got made: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9794145/ For years, the message was "Meat is poison; plants are the answer." Today, there is a large contingent here who say "Plants are poison; meat is the answer." My advice (again, worth what you paid for it) is to eat a quality, well-balanced diet. For most people, that will mean lower carbs, higher fiber, and possibly more protein. Also, maintain a healthful body weight, stay hydrated, get two or three hours of cardio workout per week, and get good sleep. Now, if I can only stick to following my own advice! ;-) |
