Honestly Jon.

You and I are trying to look at this through the lens of economics. But, what if it's not about economics? What if it's about power. Heritage Foundation (project 2025) doesn't really give a **** about economics. It's about power. And a specific group in power, and it sure looks like they're running the show. Killing research? Firing scientists? Killing the major soft power agency in the U.S.? Starting a trade war with EVERYBODY? None of it makes sense economically. But if you're trying to create "groups" and consolidate a power base, then it makes much more sense. You create an enemy (china). Well, you actually try to call the whole world your enemy. "We've been screwed by everybody for so long". You demonize immigrants. You use non stop propaganda "We won that Supreme Court decision 9-0". "It's the Gulf of America, that's just a fact". You create in groups and out groups. When the jobs don't come, and they won't, you can further demonize your "enemies" because they're "Screwing Americans". That's the playbook. It's the only thing that makes sense, because what they're doing won't "bring back jobs". What Biden did was about bringing back jobs. This, this isn't it. This is a whole different thing.

Good Lord your daft
