I kept watching to see if they landed any and then final screen had note they did not know if the ship had a capture mechanism for them to land and I would think landing would be high risk with control tower etc at end of strip.
So leaves me wondering where the planes went after their time in the air?
I had an uncle who was ground crew for Canadian air force.
He went in on D+3 and followed the fighting on into Holland.
They used grassed strips and serviced planes by refuelling and rearming them during the day but until the end of June the planes flew back to England over night. | |
