First off.. I'm not a lefty.  I agree with Mikado.

Im a Reagan Republican.. proTrade, low taxes.. INCLUDING TARRIFFS.. I know there's only two sexes.. and Russia is a bad actor.

Trumps Tariff War is not well thought out.

1) What's the policy?

2) Why punitive tariffs now?  If you're going to foster a transition.. then say in 10 or 15 years.. tariffs will be X.. you have between now and then to adjust your business model.. change input supply chains etc.

3) What's the point of Bankrupting businesses as of April 2nd with no plan to transition?

4) What about Consumers?  As Friedman noted "Tariffs protect Consumers from cheaper prices."

5) This is punitive and will slow growth or even contract it.  How do we facilitate our Consumer driven economy until the transition?

6) the Constitution relegates Tariffs to Congress.  Why are they not involved?

7) Whats happens when the Republicans lose control of Congress?

8) Will Businesses transition.. or just wait out this administration?

So far.. I'm not seeing much of a plan.

Let’s cut to the chase.. The Bond Market DID NOT LIKE TARIFFS.

Why?  Speculation abounds but.. since we’re already talking bailouts.

Why is gold rallying?

anything else gonna go with it?

Like smelly ground piles of sorghum?
