Look to project 2025. The goal is authoritarian control. That is all. The tariff's are levers to rally a base. I don't think they're really about "bringing jobs back". They have to make China an enemy. "We've always been at war with East Asia". The need a bogeyman. Then, when the tariff regime fails "See, we told you how evil they all were and how everyone is against us." It's the dictators playbook. Sound too conspiratorial?
