CHINA TRADE
No one can argue the farmer is the tip of the battering ram historically when trade disputes arise, after all our crops are low hanging fruit with huge beneficial leverage and are often easily replaced else ware on the world stage. China imports around 150 billion a year in food grown abroad, only 13 or so billion comes from the US, fuel and food are at par with each other as the leaders in US exports to China. It is not inconceivable to think we could see China hit the easy button and double or triple the amount of US grains and fruits to level the playing field, after all there aren't many things China needs from us that are produced in the US.... food and oil, the two biggees. Chinas free ride is over, and they know it, now they need to mitigate loss and not import things they don't need. As farmers we will be temporarily bludgeoned in the process as is always the case, as I believe this administration has admitted, but ultimately, we may be in a far better position in the long haul, Pollyanna view? What say you?
