nc ks | From agtalk sentiment, it seems corn acres will rise and bean acres will fall, at least in the places that can grow good corn easily. I know the old wheat belt doesn't matter much, but for a lot of guys it is the choice between milo and bean acres. Milo is a dog currently. The grain buyers are actually suggesting that their customers not plant milo because they can't sell what they have. Beans have been fairly poor yielding in the drought areas and milo too realistically but milo is more of a default crop kind of like wheat. So, I don't know if bean acres will rise dramatically in tumbleweed territory as they aren't a favorite here lately, but there is a chance that will happen and that territory can raise very respectable bean yield with just a little help from ma nature. A large share don't have the tools to switch to corn and cotton is a dog too I hear. Just food for thought for the guys in God's country thinking counter reasoning by planting beans is a sleeper play. | |
