Estate taxes were certainly higher pre Reagan. So there again that could be a solution if people don't like the income / wealth disparity.
I'm not really very educated in estate tax implications. Again, I generally don't like transfer payments. I'm somewhat doubting if there would be much efficiency gained in a macro economy but it is a fair question.
