Free trade that enabled the off-shoring of manufacturing put more money in the hands of the C-suites and shareholders. Very little of that corporate cost savings was passed on to the middle or lower class American consumer. Which smacks right to against the "It will cost more if we do it ourselves." Companies didn't lower their prices after moving the production away; they stuck more profit in their pockets.
Capitalism at its finest. The reason a Chevy pickup cost 80k now is they still sell a bunch of them. It’s not the companies job to lower prices it’s on the consumer to stop spending and we won’t do that anytime soon. I understand your view though and in my opinion has validity.
