coast of Maine | It has been a few years but I was bitten by a potentially rabid cat.My hand swelled up like a softball.Went to the hospital.Doc said catch the cat alive..,so I called my very young BIL.He got the cat but it bit him as well.The cat ran.Im waiting,, after surgery to check for a bone puncture,for them to start back then a painful series of shots.State calls,,said shoot that frigger before any one else gets bit,,but dont shoot it in the head.MyBIl was thrilled..he blasted that sucker,,stuffed in a bag,took to the capital.vet tested it the next day,,just as I and my BIL were due to start rabies shots..the test call came into the hospital,,negative for rabies.I had an injection of an unknown bacteria.Got IV therapy for 8 days I think.One bag then another 24/7,,I peed drugs.Got better went home,felt like dog poop for months.I hate cats by the way.I see the big scar on my left hand every day..was 34 years ago or so..I still hate cats,,as they say on some alligator show,,,Shootem! | |
