Scranton | I don't know...My son (born 99) and his dozen closest farm buddies ALL have good jobs and/or have started their own business. Half a dozen are actively farming on a smaller scale, but they all work hard. Son farms, works for me, then works for a large scale landscaper, long hard hours all summer. One friend started a septic system on the side. Another a market garden. Another is a full time mechanic for local dealer. Etc. Plus many have cows.
There's not one of them afraid to work.
Other son (born 02) just started teaching full time special needs. He runs to UPS to throw boxes after work every day. Works construction on weekends even though he has no loans and doesn't need the money. Will cut weeds in organic crops for me this summer. He's the kid I worried about wanting to work in high school. Then he joined wrestling and it really turned him around. | |
