NE SD | I have checked out the two hatcheries where I usually order my chicks online. Both have issues with availability due to increased demand this year but a bigger issue than that is the delivery times. USPS deliveries have in the past who knows how many years, always had 2nd day delivery from hatcheries. One of the hatcheries said this spring they have had about a 50% death loss due to delayed/late deliveries. That has been contributed to the availability as all DOA chicks are replaced free of charge. | |
