I don't know why you find it interesting. It flat out sucks.
You drown out the low ground when it won't stop raining in June and then the higher ground burns up in July and August because it doesn't rain another inch (total) after July 1. The yearly precipitation goes on record as "average". The problem is over 1/2 of the yearly precipitation came in one week.
Throw in big $$$ damage to homes, buildings, fences, roads and bridges for bonus suckiness.
Its far from being "interesting".
All that said, crop farmers don't need another hand out. The people that lost everything they own in the flooding need help.
