| Isn’t the volume consist of both the buying and selling of those options not just the guys that bought. Same with the open interest that consists of both the short and long of those options. I could be wrong though.
Edit: I mean that the volume for that day could consist of the selling or buying an option that was bought/ sold at a different time period.
