West Central Indiana | I prefer to stale seed bed as well. And its my go to each year on some acres because I rarely have enough help around to work it same day or 24 hours in front of planter. And many times the ground is in better shape to work this time of year than middle of May when I'm trying to get done with corn in less than ideal conditions. If I try to smooth up a field to go to long term no till I try to stale seed bed plant it so the ground will hold up the planter better/have less wheel tracks from the tractor/planter to deal with in the future.
