Interstate 35 North ia | I decided to go on the wheat harvest after vo-tech . Dad had a friend/ landlord that had relatives in Texas, they put me in contact with a custom cutter that lived in the same small town . A couple days after arriving in Texas the boss introduced me to the landlords relative who was a bookkeeper at the local elevator. The book keeper’s daughter also worked in the office and she immediately caught my eye but I figured she was out of my league. Went back on harvest the next year and 1 day during harvest I brought in a load of wheat and while waiting for the scale ticket she asked me if I wanted a drink of her 7-up , I did and she took a drink right after me and didn’t even wipe off the bottle. That broke the ice and we started dating . She told me later that she never shared her bottle of pop with anyone prior to that. Married 37 years.
