Yes it is troubling. But the fact of the matter is neither party could field a candidate more interesting than what trump brought to the table. That is extraordinarily sad and goes to the point that the best available out there has no interest in politics.
Yes entertainment is necessary today whether it be politics, religion or whatever. Reality tv and social media has the population trained.
