Malta, Illinois | I would assume central Iowa is similar on planting dates to central and northern Illinois. We always figure around April 15th for a start date which sometimes ends up being later depending on weather and forecast. With the forecast you are showing and the fact that you say conditions are perfect, I would not worry about putting some corn in the ground. That cold rain on Easter might a bit of a concern but if it goes in good conditions and doesn't get hit with a cold rain in the first 48 hours I would not be overly scared. | |
