ncia | Ok, my guess is that the big money lost on Medicaid fraud is from fake clinics and healthcare providers submitting inflated or even completely fraudulent claims. Not from poor people trying to see a doctor. Arbitrarily , cutting Medicaid budget and employees seems counter intuitive to resolving fraudulent claims.
Cutting staffing for social security won’t be helpful for seniors or tech challenged clients. 2 days ago, I called the fort dodge iowa regional social security office. (I had a question about applying for benefits in the future) I got their voice mail with several prompts to choose from. One said “if you are applying for social security disability bennefits, be advised that appointments are 200-230 days out”. That could be a severe hardship for people with unfortunate or unforeseen circumstances.
I really didn’t have time to wait on hold to have my question answered , but I was offered the chance to be on a call back list.
