SW WI | I don’t see any community pride, happening at all, for a HS to have that as a mascot/ name. Even before the events of the last few days.
I’m thinking you are meaning your comment tongue in cheek, Boone….but the poor kids….road games for sports would be brutal.
Here in WI Indian names are pretty well phased out. Last of the holdouts probably about 5 years ago, now. Couple ones close to me were Red Raider, Redmen and just Raiders. The first and second ones went to Birds for mascots. Turning into Red Hawks and Red Tails. Last one kept the name Raiders but now has a wolf as a mascot. | |
