The picket fence stand sounded nice until universities did studies on it and found the consistent depth mattered more.
I will say that spacing matters a lot more with sweetcorn than field corn, used to work for a canning company and the idea was when planting it was better to have skips vs. doubles as a double lead to 2 stalks not having cobs while a skip was just 1 missing cob. Sweetcorn doesn't have near the stress tolerance and breeding background that field corn does. | |
