WC IL | Before the Chief was "retired" at U of I, he would make many appearances at schools across the state teaching about native American heritage. That is gone now.
Have a friend who wanted to try out to be Chief. The first step was a 100 question exam about the history of the Illini tribe and the history of Chief. A passing score was 100, not allowed to miss any. Then you could audition for the dance. | |
