WC IL
The remnants of the Illini tribe is the Peoria tribe, which I believe is in Oklahoma. A group of Chief supporters had a deal worked out with the Peoria tribe several years ago to bring back the Chief, but in regalia more suitable instead of the plains Indian outfit previously worn. The Chancellor at the time refused to even meet with them. She is the same Chancellor who started the rapid decline of the College of Ag when she pushed to turn South Farms into a golf course. All she cared about was bringing in a bunch of middle eastern and oriental students. She was of oriental heritage.
Of course the NCAA had a big hand in getting rid of the Chief as well. Florida State still gets to keep theirs since they write a big check to the Seminole tribe every year.
