JD had a higher market share vs IH in the mid to late 50s with the numbered 2 cylinders than they ever did with the A and B. Even matched them in sales in certain hp segments. JD got rid of the 2 cylinder at the right time and it wasn't too soon.
Deeres were priced higher back then, from what I'm told. But just looking at the build quality and usable design, an unstyled A would have been my obvious pick back then over a f-20. |
