SW WI | I’ll probably get flamed for this….but I’m not sure that all that technology can give a positive ROI. Row shutoffs is the only exception in my book….you know you are saving seed. Variable rate…maybe. Again, saving seed.
Hyd or air row cleaners…very nice..very convenient. I’ve got the dawn screw adjustment yet. I do adjust for conditions but I’m not screwing with it every pass. Up grade to hyd? Can I get that done for $1k a row ? Probably not.
Hyd downforce or uplift if needed. Again not going to get it done for $1k row any more. Springs get stretched out, no argument. If they are in good condition….aren’t springs instantaneous, also?
Edit…just saw Boones 17 bu advantage over springs. I don’t want to be a downer but are springs in good condition and adjusted properly for conditions. Again…..not convenient. And we don’t like to get out very often for adjustments….just want to roll.
Sometimes I am to cheap, always looking to get by. But growing up….just had to really make do as cheap as possible.
I’ve got no problem with anyone spending their money on whatever they want but this is not on the top of my wants.
