In my opinion, the 4010 was the first tractor where Deere got it right!


I'd give that distinction to the A and the B. For a simple row-crop tractor that can cultivate and plow, that was a phenomenal design. But Deere should have moved on sooner; the 1950's two-cylinders had lost all of the simplicity inherent to their design, because those fancy bits didn't fit well on the transverse layout.



A Farmall "M" or "H" could do the same work, and kill fewer men doing it.

If God had intended me to drive something with a hand clutch .......................... he would have given me another arm.
