That commodity post of kbag could be summarized as owning something of value.

But no one should think that way, instead people are demanding the government make sure their bets in the casino known as the stock market always goes up. No matter what.

What a sad state it is for supposed adults and in a forum about markets and managing wealth.

I have been building a retirement fund for 30 years. I even remember recommendations on how to structure one - you can be heavily invested in equities, though very risky, because a decline for multiple years or a decade could still be made up over time. What was 2007, something like 6-7 years to regain its past value.

Now we have adults fully informed in regards to assets, markets, risk analysis and understanding of all things financial loosing their minds because their investment is only 95% of what it was 2 weeks ago.

Yes, very good comments about not much market talk in here.

A lot of people don't even know what a market is, or what it does. They understand a market as something that always goes up. And you don't even need to choose how to play in it. The government will make everything ok.

There are still some adults posting so that is good to see. They are commenting on why grains are green. The kids are still crying that the government isn't guaranteeing their gambling in the stock market.
