Subject: RE: Early planted beans

Alton, Ia
Tulip Festival Weekend, Sunday morning. They didn't look too good by Tues, by Wed new seed was coming. Seed beans, so it's not so easy to just go to the dealer and grab whatever he has.

I got real quick on stand counts. 20" rows > 26 ft, 2 in. Divide that by 5 = 5ft 3". The smaller the measurement actually gives you better accuracy as far as gaps etc. I can stretch my tape out 63" with two hands, quickly count, times 5, bam next spot. Printed off a field map and penciled in the count. Anything 80 or less got replanted.
