NW Indiana | I used to feel the exact same way you do. But is shipping the jobs over seas what really hurt the lower to middle class? Yeah somewhat but I would argue that the 36 trillion worth of inflation has impacted them more.
Lets go through the numbers of how I see it.
Trade deficit is 1.1 trillion.
Deficit spending 1.8 trillion.
Wealth creation 4-5 trillion.
However you run the numbers we are still gaining wealth. I suspect you eliminate the deficit spending reduces the trade deficit only in half. We could easily still run a trade deficit of 600 billion while having 2.7 trillion in wealth creation. | |
