Subject: RE: Early planted beans

NE Indiana
I would plant beans in late March early April every year if it was fit regardless of if I had free replant or not. The reward far outweighs the risk. We do add early replant to our insurance that gets us back to March 10th if needed. But it's only a $1.50 an acre. Have never had to replant our early beans since we started going early. Earliest date was April 4th a couple years ago. Won't matter this year as we haven't turned a wheel and wont next week either.

How many seed beans get delivered to the elevator or disposed of if already treated because of over production. My opinion, replant beans mean nothing to the bottom line of a seed company. Corn is a different story but we don't go early on corn anymore so that's a moot point.
