EU stats says EU imported $195 billion from Russia. Russian LNG is not sanctioned during the war and actually EU demand is increasing of Russian LNG
If discussing AG comparative advantage, US does not have it from a cost structure - land. South America land is cheap and despite EU tree cutting deforestation measures that the EU keep kicking down the road, more is being cleared in Brazil and SA. We can’t import cheap fertilizer from dictators and countries that subsidize and dump cheap on the world market. Our equipment has pollution control systems that other countries do not which only adds to their initial upfront cost and long term lifetime expense. Try saving back some of your Enlist beans or XF beans to plant and tell us how that works…..
Covid taught us that just in time inventory doesn’t work and as China didn’t “come out of the covid hole” at the same time and rate after the flu as US that supply lines can get stretched to broken….
