St. Joseph, Champaign County, IL | One thing that sticks with me, is seeing the killdeer lined up in the shadows of a couple power poles, on a hot fall day. IIRC, temperatures were in the 90's, and we were shelling corn. I made 2-3 consecutive trips hauling to the grain bin, where the killdeer were mostly enjoying the shade provided by 2-3 power poles in a row. Very few of them were out in the direct sunlight. |
