South Central MN | I do business with both, they have a lot of overlap between the two in my area and a bit east.
Main points they pushed was to make things more efficient down the road (like NOT having to drag NH3 tanks on a one way 40 mile trip anymore and cutting that down to 15 ish.) and the fact they have so many employees hitting retirement age they will both be struggling to find replacements. They claim they won't be cutting any jobs, guess they figured retirements will take care of any surplus.
Kind of getting to the point where all the "small" co-ops will be gone soon, and all that is left will be ones covering 5+ counties.
On the grain and agronomy side not much will change for me since one elevator and fertilizer plant is less than a mile away, fuel though I will likely be seeing a different truck and driver. | |
