Subject: Interesting

Colorado and Oz

Zenfarm - Right or wrong an interesting posting. Depending on Chinese ag statistics is dodgy I agree but what I find interesting are the details you discovered.

Over the last several years, the use of LLM to normalize and analyze satellite imagery has gone from obscure to quite public.  On US company in particular, www.perennial.earth, has taken great pride in being able to calculate highly detailed imagery of the "soil organic carbon and soil health anywhere on earth" .  Interestingly, this skill was developed by their access to Australian grants in conjunction with an Aussie company, FarmLAB (www.getfarmlab.com).  Perennial (https://www.perennial.earth/) is a group that gains its value from provision of their process to large agribusiness and those who bet on farmers' regenerative activities.  Given that Perennial can map out to 10m x 10m scales anywhere on earth, the same process to monitor China and its ag and its acreage, is potentially in hand.
