Across the corn belt depending on time of year | additional comments about whether these biocontrol nematodes are "adapted to Central Nebraska"
there is in the neighborhood of 4,000 acres inoculated in eastern Colorado which is a more severe climate than the Lexington, NE area. In addition, we are following a field in Roswell, NM of continuous corn which was inoculated in 2019 for rootworm. Not only has that single application controlled rootworm for 7 growing seasons, the biocontrol nematode population is happy and well. Roswell, NM in irrigated corn is a better test of persistence than anywhere in Nebraska due to the higher summer temperatures resulting in higher soil temperatures. |
